Cajun Family Traditions is part of the original Richard family that settled in Pointe de L' Eglise. (Church Point, La.) To this day, they are still creating some of the best-smoked sausage and boudin in the area.
The Richard family's smoked sausage and boudin history date back many years. Members of the Richard family recall their parents and grandparents having a weekly boucherie with friends and neighbors to make sure everyone had enough food for the week. In the 1950s, 'Ma-Mom' Celina Richard opened her store, and the Richard roots grew from there.
Lonnie Richard started Richard's Cajun Foods in 1981 and sold the business in 1996. After breaking ties with Richard's Cajun Foods, the Richard family decided to keep their Cajun family tradition alive. Lonnie, his brother Todd, and Todd's son Benjamin created Cajun Family Traditions to share some of the family's best-kept secrets with everyone!
The Richard family carries on their ancestors' traditions, understanding the quality of products that every Cajun desires and the smoke flavor that every Cajun loves.
