Cajun Family Traditions is rooted in the original Richard family that settled in Pointe de L' Eglise (Church Point, La.). To this day, they continue to create some of the best-smoked sausage and boudin in the area, preserving their rich boudin traditions.
The Richard family's connection to smoked sausage recipes dates back many years. Members of the family fondly remember their parents and grandparents hosting a weekly boucherie, ensuring that friends and neighbors had enough Cajun food heritage to last the week. In the 1950s, 'Ma-Mom' Celina Richard opened her store, and the Richard roots grew from there.
In 1981, Lonnie Richard founded Richard's Cajun Foods, which he sold in 1996. After parting ways with Richard's Cajun Foods, the family was determined to keep their Cajun culture alive. Lonnie, his brother Todd, and Todd's son Benjamin established Cajun Family Traditions to share their family's favorite recipes and best-kept secrets with the community!
The Richard family proudly carries on their ancestors' traditions, understanding the quality products that every Cajun craves and the smoke flavor that is beloved among Cajun food enthusiasts.
